Rijo Shekari is a chartered accountant, with more than 14 years of experience in compliance, retail, and commercial banking.

He worked in banking operations at First Bank, where his career began, before going on to Stanbic IBTC, where he was a relationship manager.

At Stanbic, he oversaw selling of mutual funds as well as managing portfolio accounts for high-net-worth clients and institutional investors.Following this experience, Rijo, moved to the banking arm of Stanbic IBTC Group, as an operational risk management officer with oversight over 150 branches and two subsidiaries.

He held this position until he joined ASO Savings and Loans PLC, as head of operational risk management and compliance, building the department from scratch.

Rijo is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom, and a Commonwealth Scholar.

He holds a BSc in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University and an MSc in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.

He is currently the Group Head, Business Developments at New Frontier Developments Limited
