Mr. Segun earned a degree in accounting from the Federal Polytechnic in Ado Ekiti in 1992 before going on to earn a postgraduate diploma in economics from Lagos State University in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Babcock University in Ilishan Remo in 2015.;

In 1989–1990, he began his professional career with the Ondo State Ministry of Finance as an Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts).

He started out as the Commercial Manager for West African Popular Foods in 2005 for six months. This company was a joint venture between Unilever Nigeria PLC and Dangote Salts, the manufacturer and marketer of Annapurna Salts.

From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Head of Accounts at Unilever Nigeria PLC. From 2008 to 2011, he worked as the Head of Accounts at Reliance Telecommunications’ Zoommobile; General Manager, Accounting from 2011 to 2015 at PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc; Head of Finance/Executive Director from 2016 to 2017, PZ Cussons Ghana Ltd.

Segun belongs to a number of professional and certification organizations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Institute of Certified Business Management Professional, the Certified Fraud Examiners and Forensic Accountants of Nigeria, the Certified Internal Controls Auditor, the Certified Investigation and Forensics Professional, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and the Certified COBIT5 Professional. The Institute of Internal Auditors; Society for Corporate Governance of Nigeria (USA). Organization of Directors (Ghana).
